The purpose of this blog
If you read about my profile, you would know that I have more than 13 years of experience in financial practicing, and having met up with hundreds of people and getting to know their financial situations, whether good or bad, gave me a broad perspective of why some people are financially successful while others are not.
Most of us get to know people about their jobs, their hobbies, their families, or even their passions. But rarely you hear or get to know about their money story, their financial problems or decisions. Because these are confidential life stories which most of us are not willing to share. Being a CFP practitioner, I took pride in my job of having the legal licencing and the privilege to listen with empathy all of my clients’ financial situations and their financial plans, provide the necessary financial advice within my capacity and walk their financial journey. It is through this job that I am exposed to many money stories covering topics such as earnings, spending, saving, protecting, growing and distributing of money. These are important money lessons which we all deserved to know!
Through this website, I hope I can share and provide you with real life stories on personal finance from my clients or from what I was told during my practice. Of course, all the stores are real, but some part of the stories as well as the identity of the people mentioned will be changed in order to protect the parties. Some of the stories will also be written in Chinese to benefit the non-English speaking readers.
Lastly, I wish to clarify that the purpose of this blog is to improve the overall financial literacy level of my fellow Singaporeans. In my article, I may unintentionally hurt other people’s feelings but it is never the purpose of this website to bring down anybody, any company or any product, in order to promote my practice. For further clarifications, please see my disclaimer in my landing page.
By reading my blog, I hope you will gain useful insights on your personal finance and be able to learn and improve on your financial empowerment. After-all, foundational financial planning is what I have been practising in my advisory business and I am a firm believer in these principals.
